Reflective TN LCD 10 Digit Meter Display -40C Gas Meter Register for Russia Belarus EU Market
Cold-climate 10 Digit Gas Meter LCD for Russia, Belarus and the EU
HTG8872-10-PRDNNS-N-T — the reading has to stay legible when the cabinet is at -40 °C and there is no heater inside. This reflective TN module does exactly that: ten digits, decimal points and up/down arrows, 3.6 V logic, chamber-tested at -45 °C with every segment switching.
Built for the cabinets we actually see in Eastern Europe
Wall-mounted gas meters on apartment facades, unheated stairwells, outdoor cabinets with a frost-covered door. Those installations share three constraints: no mains power, no heater, and a technician who reads the register from above in gloves.
- Reflective TN — the display uses daylight, so a dark cabinet is the only real limit
- -40 °C to +70 °C operating, -50 °C to +70 °C storage
- 6:00 viewing direction for top-down reading
- 10 digits with decimal points and up/down arrows for reverse flow
Chamber evidence, not a claim
Modules were powered inside a climatic chamber during a cold soak. The controller display read -45.00 °C while all ten digits kept switching, with no missing segments and no contrast collapse. The footage is recorded per batch — ask for it with your sample request.

Replacement and retrofit work
If you are sourcing a register display for an existing meter platform, send the old glass drawing or a sample. We match the viewing area, the pin order and the viewing direction, and confirm which mechanical features (clips, pin length, glass thickness) have to stay identical for a drop-in fit.
FAQ
1. Can the display be read at -40 °C without a heater?
Yes — that is the design case. The TN fluid is specified to -40 °C operating, the module is reflective so there is no backlight to dim, and the chamber run at -45 °C kept all segments switching.
2. Which documents can you supply for an EU or CIS buyer?
RoHS 2.0 and REACH declarations ship with every lot. If your import process needs a specific declaration format, raise it at quotation stage so it is confirmed in writing — we do not claim certificates we have not issued.
3. Can you match the display we already use?
Send the drawing or a physical sample. Digit count, viewing area, outline, pin assignment and viewing direction are all configurable, so a matching build is normally possible without changing your PCB.
4. What is the MOQ?
1000 pieces for a standard configuration. Sample and tooling quantities are quoted per project against your drawing.
5. What is the lead time?
Confirmed in the quotation, because it depends on whether the glass tooling exists and on order quantity. We quote the schedule together with the price.
6. How is the interface wired?
Six active pins — VDD, GND, LOAD, DIN, LCLK, DCLK — at 3.6 V, driven by the ML1001B-2U on glass at 1/1 duty, 1/1 bias and 64 Hz. Pins 7 to 10 are not connected.
7. Is the contrast stable in sunlight and in frost?
Reflective positive TN raises contrast as ambient light increases, so direct sun is not a problem; in frost the segment contrast holds because the fluid stays within its rated range. There is no backlight to wash out the glass.
8. How are the modules packed and shipped?
Anti-static tray with foam interlayer and export carton, pin row protected. Carton quantity and pallet options are confirmed on the quotation.
